Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL)

Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL) is a fast-growing malignancy of the blood and bone marrow that targets immature white blood cells called lymphoblasts. These aberrant cells grow quickly and stop the generation of normal red blood cells, platelets, and white blood cells. People with ALL may have lethargy that doesn’t go away, frequent infections, fever, easy bruising or bleeding, a pale complexion, or bone or joint discomfort.

ALL can affect children and adults, but it is the most frequent type of leukaemia in youngsters. Usually, blood tests, examination of the bone marrow, and other special procedures are used to detect the aberrant cells and their characteristics.
Treatment relies on such criteria as age, general health, genetic alterations and the kind of ALL. Standard treatments are combined chemotherapy, targeted drugs, immunotherapy and sometimes stem cell transplantation. Treatment is usually provided in various rounds to kill leukaemia
 cells and limit the risk of relapse.
There have been advancements in diagnosis and treatment, and many people with ALL can go into remission. Timely diagnosis, adequate therapy, and regular follow-up are critical for effective management of the condition and long-term prognosis.
