Delayed ejaculation is
a male sexual disorder in which ejaculation takes an exceptionally
long period or does not occur at all, despite adequate sexual arousal
and desire. It may be an intermittent ailment or an ongoing problem that
affects confidence, closeness, and emotional well-being. Delayed ejaculation
may occur with sexual intercourse, masturbation, or both.
Some guys might only ejaculate with a certain type of stimulation, and some men
might not ejaculate at all.
Delayed ejaculation can be
caused by some physical and psychological causes. Common causes include stress,
anxiety, sadness, marital troubles, nerve injury, hormonal imbalances,
diabetes, alcohol addiction, and side effects of some drugs, such as
antidepressants. Aging can also impact sexual responsiveness and the timing of
ejaculation.
Typical symptoms include irritation,
less satisfaction from sex, tiredness during sex, and mental
distress for both partners. The diagnosis usually entails a review of medical
history, lifestyle habits, medications, and psychological variables.
Doctors may also suggest blood testing or neurological exams to determine the
underlying cause.
Treatment will be based on
the underlying cause and may include counseling, behavioral therapy, changes
in medication, hormone therapy, or lifestyle changes. Open discussion, with
a healthcare expert and partner, can do wonders for improving recovery and sexual
happiness.
