Amlapitta (Hyperacidity)

Amlapitta (hyperacidity) is a frequent digestive problem in Ayurveda that happens when the Pitta dosha gets too high, which makes the stomach make too much acid. It usually happens because of unhealthy eating habits, like eating spicy, greasy, fried, or acidic foods, not eating meals at the same time every day, drinking too much tea or coffee, and being stressed. This imbalance messes with the digestive fire (Agni), which leads to bad digestion and too much acid.
People with Amlapitta may have sour belching, heartburn, nausea, a burning feeling in their chest and throat, indigestion, and sometimes headaches or tiredness. If you don't cure it, it could cause problems like ulcers or gastritis. Ayurveda says that the best way to fix the problem is to balance Pitta and get the digestive system back to normal.

Management means eating a Pitta-pacifying diet that contains foods that are cool and simple to digest, like milk, coconut water, fruits, and boiled vegetables. It is essential to stay away from fried, spicy, and fermented meals. Herbs like Amla, Yashtimadhu (liquorice), and Shatavari are good for you since they calm you down and reduce inflammation. Eating well, managing stress, and getting enough sleep all help with recovery and keep the problem from coming back.
