Pitta Dosha Disorders (Pitta Vyadhi)

Pitta Dosha Disorders (Pitta Vyadhi) refer to conditions arising from the imbalance or aggravation of Pitta dosha, which governs metabolism, digestion, heat, and transformation in the body according to Ayurveda. When Pitta becomes excessive due to factors like spicy food, excessive heat exposure, stress, or irregular lifestyle, it leads to various inflammatory and heat-related disorders. Common manifestations include hyperacidity, skin diseases (like rashes, acne, and dermatitis), excessive sweating, burning sensations, irritability, and anger. In severe cases, it may contribute to conditions such as ulcers, liver disorders, and bleeding tendencies.

Ayurvedic management focuses on pacifying Pitta through a cooling diet, lifestyle modifications, and herbal remedies. Foods that are sweet, bitter, and astringent in taste—such as fresh fruits, leafy vegetables, and dairy—are recommended, while spicy, oily, and fermented foods should be avoided. Herbs like Amalaki, Neem, and Guduchi are commonly used for their cooling and detoxifying properties. Practices such as meditation, adequate hydration, and avoiding excessive sun exposure also play a crucial role in balancing Pitta and restoring overall health.
